The Session Structure
1. Retrieval Practice: Every session begins with quick active recall to strengthen memory and bridge the gap between lessons.
2. Creative Teaching: We introduce new concepts through visual "hooks" and real-world intuition, rather than abstract rote leaning.
3. Targeted Practice: Students tackle "big-mark" questions from current exam boards, receiving immediate, personalized guidance.
4. Collaborative Review: We conclude by deconstructing common misconceptions together, ensuring students leave with confidence.
I started the Sheffield Weekend School because I’ve seen first-hand the difference that high-quality, focused support can make. After a decade of teaching, my goal is to bring the academic rigour of top-tier schooling to a local community setting.
I’m passionate about embedding knowledge through the historical context of the scientists, bringing their discoveries to life through physical demonstrations and visual simulations. I enjoy challenging students with creative problems to solve and encourage them to take ownership of their learning by communicating their thinking to the group.
